The Second Spray Blocking Tutorial - Sewing together HUGE projects....

This second tutorial is the result of sewing....unsewing....resewing the Beautiful Blogger Blanket of 2012.

The blanket turned out to be the size of a single bed and after my first attempt at sewing it all together it was fan shaped and wouldn't lay flat!

On my second attempt I found the way to create a symmetrical piece with parallel sides ... it even laid flat on a bed! This tutorial should help you if you ever attempt a big project...and it will remind me next year!

REMEMBER TO PIN YOUR SHAPES TO YOUR BOARD
FACE DOWN, READY TO BE SEWN TOGETHER!

Hope it helps!
This tutorial will stay on my blog in the 'Tutorials and Projects'
section at the top right of the home page x

  4. That looks fantastic! I've started to help run a new craft group in King's Lynn (Norfolk), we tried to crochet squares on our second meet, it would have been nice to do something similar like this at the end! x

  8. Hi Jill
Just saw your comment on my blog..Lovely to meet you too. My father was born in Great Milton, as was his mother. We did all our holidaying there, staying with his Aunt who lived in a house near the church. My grandfather was born in Great Haseley and all past generations (I'm doing my family tree) live around there and various places such as Holton, Cuddesdon etc. You're not too far away from me in when you're in Cratfield as I'm in Snape. Would you belive my great grandmother on my mothers side was married in Cratfield and past generations are from around there and Huntingfield, Walpole, Metfield etc. Small world isn't it. Julie x

  12. Thanks for you lovely comment on my blog Jill! About the pictures, I use a Canon Powershot xs200 and I'm very pleased with the results! What helps A LOT is that I have a very tiny living room with a very big window, so a lot of light. Light makes everything more pretty on a picture. And the model was so photogenic this time too ;-). Give you dog a hug and a cookie for me.

By the way...how did I miss the tada on the blanket!!! My goodness, it is A-MA-ZING. Have a nice weekend.

  14. I would never have thought to pin everything first.....what a very clever idea.....you're not just a pretty face see ;-)

The end blanket truly is stunning, and looks much better I know for all the careful crocheting a stitching you did.....goodness what sort of lumpy rushed job I would have done on it!
