TA-DAH!....The Beautiful Blogger Blanket of 2012 is finished!

It's true... the Beautiful Blogger Blanket of 2012 is finally finished! 

I was going to introduce you slowly... but I think I will just deluge

you all with a very photo heavy post... here goes....

Isn't it beautiful? 

Squares came from all these countries...

(in alphabetical order):

Australia, England, Germany, 

Holland, Ireland, Italy, 

Lebanon, New Zealand, 

South Africa, USA and Wales!

There are over 120 squares... I lost count with all the little ones...

I didn't think I was going to get the lovely big square from

 'AJ The Purple' in...but there it is in the bottom left corner AJ...

and in the end I was very thankful for it! 

Whats that you say?  Close-ups?  Okay....here you go...

 A few tiny weeny in-fills were needed!

....and oh my Goodness I was grateful to Faith for the 

pile of little squares she sent to me when I was struggling!

 Can you spot your squares amongst all this gloriousness? 

I had to do a little bit of tweaking to a couple of squares to get them in...

and now for the difficult bit for me...

....folding up the Beautiful Blogger Blanket of 2012....

 Taking a last long look before I pop it in it's box....

The Penultimate Squares post for the BBB 2012!

These squares came to us all the way from Austin,Texas.  AJ The Purple was another of the special requests from the Wishlist post  all the way back in January.  

Velma of Made by Velma suggested AJ.  

AJ's blog is lovely...uplifting, positive, full of crafty loveliness.. and she sent us 6 beautiful squares..

AJ started with this granny square...

This green and white large square is from a pattern called Freesia from here...

Then there are 3 co-ordinating Flower Granny 

Squares from a free pattern on Ravelry here...

Finally a huge square which sadly is too big to 

put in the blanket.. so sorry AJ, but it would 

be out on it's own at this stage, so with your permission, I will send it to Barbina as an

extra treat.  

The pattern for this one is called, 
'Enough Love to Go Around'.. what an appropriate name for a square for the Beautiful Blogger Blanket!

Beautiful Blogger Blanket - finish date delayed to end of February and One-a-Day-ish!

So many lovely people have been contacting me for my
 postal address for the Beautiful Blogger Blanket.. 


Some of them live half way across the world! 

It seems that quite a few bloggers have only just
 found our beautiful blanket project and need 
more time....

 So I hope you won't mind too much if I delay the end date for the 
blanket until Prince Charles Birthday

 29th February 2012

This gives us all another 5 weeks... so if 

you have been worrying that your squares 

won't reach me in time, or if you have been 

kicking yourself for not joining in time...

Get a wriggle on and whip up a square or two! 

Look at the beautiful squares on the blanket's 
own page (the link is at the top of the right hand column) 

...and see what you could win! The whole blanket! 

Here are some squares that arrived at the end of 
last week from Joanne of Rose & Dahlia.... 

An exciting little package with a beautiful 

cup cake card

and 6 perfect little squares... 

1 pink granny square from a pattern in the book, 

'Happy Hooker', by Debbie Stoller - p.67.

Joanne used Rowan Handknit cotton yarn

 and the square measures 11cm x 11cm.

One...

Two....

Three...

Four! Simple Squares from the book, 

'Cute and Easy Crochet' by Nicki Trench.  p.36.

Again using Rowan Handknit cotton, each one measures 10cm x 10cm.

And finally... *swoon* ....

This GORGEOUS 11cm x 11cm square which

 has a pale pink background, a red red rose

 and green ground behind the rose to look 

like leaves. 

This one is called the Camella Square and 

again comes from 'Cute and Easy Crochet' 

by Nicki Trench. (P. 88)

Do you need anymore inspiration to make a square

 and send it to me to be sewn into our blanket?

Dana's lovely Crafty Minx blog.  Dana is 

making a square a day and they are 

stunning! 

Finally...today is Tuesday.. yep Tuesday again already! 

The girls have all been making great progress this 

week over at Carole's blog - Gingerbread Girl 

 and on the Ravelry group too here.

Did I hear you ask about my progress? 

A measly 2.5 squares and I haven't taken a photo! 

One more week to complete my self-imposed

 deadline of getting up to date by 31st January....

I think I have about 40 to make this week!

P.S: I'm off to another job interview tomorrow morning.. wish me luck! 

Beautiful Blogger Blanket of 2012 - It begins!

I have already seen 3 lovely bloggy posts about squares people are making for the Beautiful Blogger Blanket of 2012..and a few of you have emailed me for my postal address... 

First from Carole at Gingerbread Girl pop over there for a glimpse of the squares she is making for the BBB 2012.....Just a glimpse, but looking so good.
